John McNaught, age 57, passed away peacefully at his Virginia Beach home on Thanksgiving Day surrounded by those who loved him. He courageously battled pancreatic cancer while maintaining his sharp wit and sense of humor.

John was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach and Carova. As the owner of Trim Works, he was able to share his craft with countless customers. He loved fishing, hunting, and boating with his many friends.

John was predeceased by his father, Joseph. Left to cherish John’s memory are his mother, Catherine; his life partner Kimberlee Hoey; and his siblings Joseph (Pamela), Janet, James (Linda), Karen (Robert), and Richard (Jane Ann); as well as five nieces and their families, and numerous other relatives. John was blessed with many friends and will be sorely missed by all. The family is grateful for the care provided by Dr. Michael Lee, Gabby and the wonderful staff of Virginia Oncology.

A Memorial Service will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, 1801 Baltic Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA on December 1, 2023 at 11:00am. Respecting John’s expressed wishes, Kimberlee Hoey is hosting a reception at South Beach Grill, 1901 Norfolk Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA on December 1, 2023 at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

John was a childhood friend and although we didn’t keep in touch after High School he was, and remains, a part of many of my childhood memories. I am saddened to hear of his passing. I pray that God’s love and strength surround all who love him.
