Joanne W. Falk 75 passed away in the comfort of her own home in the early morning hours on February 1,2023. She was born December 14,1947 to  her  parents William B. Wood and Mary Carol Wood

She was proceeded on death by her parents William B. Wood and Mary Carol Wood, Brother Bill Wood, and Grandchildren Dylan Goines and Julian Rivera

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Edward A. Falk; 1 Brother Larry Brickner-Wood (Dea); children Kelli Hernandez (Laurencio), William “Bill” Gregory (Misty), Edward A.Falk II (Jamie), Bethany Rivera (Oscar); 14 Grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Joanne was a nurse, business owner, and worked with special needs children at Hickory Middle school. She was a horse and dog lover, loved to cook and dance. She was involved in the Chesapeake 4-H horse and livestock clubs when her children and grandchildren went through the ranks. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was a member of The Church Of Messiah. She loved Facebook and connecting with friends new and old and playing phone games later on in life. She fought a long hard 23 year battle and she is now pain free. God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers.

So sorry for your loss. Joanne was a lovely lady, neighbor and friend. She loved her family and friends. May God comfort the family and store the precious memories for comfort later.

I worked with Joanne at Hickory Middle. She was wonderful with the students. I also worked with her as a teacher of two of her grandchildren. I couldn’t have asked for a better parent. She never had a bad word for or about anyone. She will be greatly missed.
