Joan Serrano Ginyard of Newport News, Va passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020. A Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother.
Joan was born in South Korea and came to the United States with her family when she was a young girl. Throughout her life she worked in the medical field caring for others. She loved spending her time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and watch cooking shows.
Survived by her husband Gregory Ginyard, daughters Katrina Gatling and Kasarah Foster,
Son-in-law Clifton Foster Jr, her grandchildren Ariel Foster, Camden Foster, and Giovanni Foster, Father Juan Serrano Sr., Brother Juan Serrano Jr. additional survivors include Sister-in-law Annabelle Serrano, her niece and nephew Hanna Serrano and Jackson Serrano, and other family residing in California and Kansas.
The Family will receive friends for visitation from 4pm-8pm on Monday December 14, 2020 at Altmeyer Funeral Home- Denbigh Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2020 at 11:30am also at Altmeyer Funeral Home. Procession to follow to Peninsula Memorial Park.

My condolences to the entire Ginyard and Serrano family. May the God of peace be your light and strength in this dark hour. Psa.30;5 weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the moring. In everything give thanks for this is the will of God concerning you in Christ Jesus for y’all have more to be thankful for than to be sad about. Mom, I love you so much, I will always remember everything you have said and taught me.. even though your no longer physically here I know that you will continue to watch over all of us in heaven, until we’re together again.. I love you, Rest in Heaven Mom
