We are sad to announce the passing of Joan Urben Bing of Yorktown Virginia. Predeceased by her husband John Bing, Joan passed away peacefully on October 23rd, at the age of 79. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, she graduated from St. Gregory Catholic high school. She was the youngest of 7 children: Regina Todaro, Paul Urben, William Urben, Ronald Urben, Patricia Wright, and MaryJoyce Chouinard. Joan had a passion for Genealogical history and has left an extraordinary heritage collection for her children. She loved traveling to Europe and one of her favorites trips was to Ireland. Joan’s faith in GOD was unwavering, strong, and she was committed to her faith, GOD and her loved ones.
She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her children, son Shawn (Loretta) Bing, daughter Dawn (Carl) Killian, her 8 Grandchildren: Lauren, Blake, Aaron, Collyn, James, Steven, Kathleen, and Megan, her 2 Great Grandchildren: Liam and Wyatt; as well as by her sisters MaryJoyce Chouinard and Patricia Wright, and her cherished friend Debbie Baker.
To honor Joan’s memory, a celebration of life will be held on November 11th at 11:00 am at St. Joan of Arc’s Catholic Church in Yorktown Virginia, where she was a member, a volunteer, and where she was well loved by her fellow parishioners. The date for her service, 11:11, has spiritual significance and meaning; to honor and remember your loved ones who have passed on, and to bring awareness to strong spiritual connections. Immediately following the service, Joan will be placed to rest in the churchyard, in a columbarium niche next to her late husband, John Bing.
No longer by our side, but forever in our hearts.
