Celebration of Life

Jo Anne Doran lived an amazing 72 years (1949 – 2022), sharing her love of life with all she encountered. She had one of the most genuine and uplifting smiles. If you ever had the pleasure of being with Jo, you know that you were in the presence of love and light.

Jo created a legacy of kindness, generosity, and social responsibility. Her legacy lives on through her husband, Dean, who deeply loved for over 55 years and will continue, daughter Tabatha (Rob), their children Sophie, Hannah, Ian, son Willie (Cindy), their children, Kelli, Eric, Josh, and Ethan, and sister Doris Friend.

Jo was active in church life, chaperoning touring adventures, building a church in Dominican Republic, and her most favorite, teaching Sunday school for the little children. She could be found helping out wherever needed with a smile on her face.

Creating and giving were her love languages. Jo was an extremely talented seamstress, crocheted and gifted the most amazing afghans, and baked an array of delicious cookies and baked goods.

Jo was one of THE best huggers. Whenever you parted ways she always gave a giant love-filled hug. Although we will miss those hugs, we take comfort in knowing that many people have learned the art of the Jo Anne Doran hug.

She made a difference. Our walk with Christ blossomed because she took the time and shared His love. There are so many memories of our friendship that make me smile. I can’t imagine the amount of hugs and smiles that were waiting for her. We love you Dean and are praying comfort for you and your family.
