Jerry Wright, a devoted retiree of the United States Navy and skilled Welder, passed away on November 9, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was born on March 12, 1964, in Birmingham, Alabama. Jerry was age 59, at the time of his passing.
After dedicating over 20 years of his life to serving his country, Jerry retired from the United States Navy in 2003. Throughout his career, he displayed immense dedication and commitment to his duties. Jerry was a faithful attendee and member of Oak Street Baptist Church, where he found solace and community. His presence will be deeply missed by his fellow parishioners.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, James Wright and Alberta Wright, as well as his brother. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories within his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his two sons, Jerry Wright, Jr., and Jeremy Wright, and his daughters, VonDarian Watters-Carlisle and Jehrai Wright. Additionally, Jerry is survived by his brother, four sisters, and a host of grandchildren. Each of them will forever hold his memory dear in their hearts.
For over three decades, Jerry called Virginia Beach his home. During this time, he built lasting relationships and was an integral part of the community. His warm smile and kindhearted nature touched the lives of those around him.
Jerry Wright will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his country, his craftsmanship, and his steadfast faith in God. His presence in our lives will be deeply missed and forever cherished. May his soul find eternal rest and peace.
