Jennifer Kanten

September 28, 1978 - January 26, 2022

09/28/1978 - 01/26/2022

Jen – “Jen AK” passed away unexpectedly Wednesday Jan 26. Jen was a proud member of the LBGTQ community, a longtime friend, counselor, and confidant of everyone she met.  She touched innumerable lives with her wit, wisdom, sarcasm, profanity, and her shining light.
She is survived by her one and only – her wife, Melissa, her mother, Rev. Rita Kanten of Suffolk, her father, Dale (Tammy) Kanten of Virginia Beach, brothers Nick (Melissa) Miracle and David (Cheri) Miracle of Colorado, Mark Carrier of Virginia Beach and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jen leaves behind a legacy of a life lived on her terms.  A life that cannot be adequately summarized with a few words.  She made the world a better place just by being Jen.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Jen, you are one of the best people I ever met. You helped me countless times when I needed it the most and you told me when I was wrong. I’m never going to forget the night you and I had the one on one talk. Fly high angel let your wings spread beautiful!!!
