Jeffrey Layne Davis – a man with many, many friends, sincerely compassionate, extremely giving of himself, and his earthly possessions.
Jeff was born May 17, 1955 and went to be with our Lord on December 9, 2015.
He is predeceased by his parents, Victor L. Davis Sr. and Hilda L. Davis, step mother, Florence E. Davis, brothers Victor L. Davis Jr., John D. Davis and beloved sisters Sandy Davis and Linda D. Culpepper.
He is survived by his Brother Robert Davis, nephews; Victor Davis III, Brian Davis, Greg Davis, nieces Robin Davis and Jill Szalaj; sister-in-law Carol Davis, Melody Gehring, as well as the many, many friends that shared his life.
Jeff grew up in the Arrowhead neighborhood and attended Kempsville High School but graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1974. He worked in the hospitality business for most of his career. Jeff started as a bellman and worked his way up to general manager; he was one of the best at the Beach. Jeff was the General Manager of Station One Hotel for 25 years. He has been the Co-Manager of the Four Sails Resort for the past 8 years. Over the years he has taught many the real meaning of hospitality through his fine example.
Jeff found strength in Christ our Savior, and his grace was reflected in Jeff’s life. Many a tear has been shed, but rejoice fore we shall see him again in eternity.

Jeff was my boss at the 39th St Holiday Inn about 6 months before I left for Navy OCS way back in 1980. Jeff was born to be in the hospitality business. He and old Mr Sykes (who worked some 50 years at the old Cavalier) ran the HI with equal measures of charm, graciousness and good humor. Jeff was the consummate hotelier. Rest in peace old friend.

Jeff was my boss, my friend, and my mentor. I will miss him more than I can describe. I only wish I could have said goodbye. I know you are up in heaven Jeff, making the Big Guy laugh at all of you funny quips.

Jeff you will sadly be missed. My heart aches for you but the knowledge you are no longer in pain helps to heal my broken heart. You were so special and always had time for everyone. You truly walked as “Christ” would have us to do. I love you….

I feel blessed to have known you. You were one of a kind, and angel on earth, now an angel in heaven. Until we meet again. Hugs.

I was very sorry to hear about Jeff’s passing. My deepest sympathy to Robert & family. Jeff was such a spirited man, always smiling and always a pleasure to see walking through the Café. I enjoyed our talks & his gracious manner he was truly a gentleman. God Bless.
