Jacqueline English

Jacqueline Diamond English, 83, passed away July 29, 2023, in Williamsburg, Virginia. Born in Newport News, VA, April 10, 1940, she spent much of her early childhood in South Carolina, but moved back to Newport News as a teen to live with her maternal aunt Bethany and uncle James Davidson. Jackie, a graduate of Warwick High School, achieved a successful career in banking, but retired early to support and assist her husband, Tim, with his construction business. Throughout her life she loved and cherished her family, showing kindness through a smile, a nice word, or a handwritten note. She remains forever in our hearts.
Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Timothy English, and her brother, Jerry Diamond. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Powell and son-in-law, Mike; grandsons, Michael Powell and Brandon Powell; her daughter, Stephanie Ashworth and son-in-law Cameron; grandchildren, Bella Ashworth and Jonah Ashworth; sisters, Nancy Harman, Sherri Brantley, Linda Roberson, Ann Coursey, Sandra Campbell; brother, Steve Starkey; nieces, Courtney Diamond, Christy Roberson, and Lauren Tincher; nephews, David Harman, Gary Roberson, Lee Roberson, and Joshua Oglesby.
There will be a small service for immediate family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory.
Arrangements were in care of Altmeyer Funeral Home – Denbigh Chapel.
