Geoffrey Gallo was born on August 29, 1956 in Paterson, New Jersey. He passed away unexpectedly and suddenly on August 19, 2022.

Raised in Woodland Park, New Jersey, Geoff then moved to Las Vegas in the 70’s with his parents, Leo and Doris Gallo (Rafferty)and his younger sister, Lisa Gallo-Gabbert.

Geoff served in the Marines after high school  and then pursued a career in photography.  He had a penchant for taking beautiful photos and photographed several well known celebrities of the Vegas Strip.

In recent years Geoff worked in construction management. Geoff and Construction Management were a match made in heaven, as he was the consummate perfectionist, paying close attention to every detail.

Geoff enjoyed playing his guitar, especially for his little granddaughter, Ayla, whom he adored. Whenever Geoff spoke of his sons, his whole face lit up, beaming with pride.  He also had a passion for cooking and baking. He was quite the chef, and thoroughly enjoyed a great meal. He was also known to make a mean pumpkin pie.

Geoff had a great sense of humor and could put a smile on your face, even in the toughest of times. An avid sports lover, Geoff could be found on Sunday’s watching football.  He was a true patriot and loved his country.

Geoffrey is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Doris Gallo (Rafferty), and his dog, Teddy. He leaves behind his heartbroken family.. son, Robert Gallo and his wife Riela Marie Gallo, and son, Michael Gallo, along with sister Lesley Rubino (Gallo) and husband Germano Rubino and sister Lisa Gallo-Gabbert and husband, Steven Gabbert, granddaughter Ayla Isabelle Gallo, nephews, Justin Rubino and Tyler Rubino, along with several cousins and many friends.

Services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, Virginia Beach, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Geoff was a very good friend to so many people including myself. I remember when he showed me how he made homemade spaghetti sauce with the pork chops the way his italian relatives did. He was a fantastic cook and we had many dinners together as a family including his son Michael. I am shocked and so sad to have just heard this news. Life is so short as we know it. Geoff and his family are in my prayers. May he rest in peace.
