Frank Marlin Simmons, 82, of Hampton, VA journeyed home on September 23, 2016. He was born on May 25, 1934 in Abington, PA, to Walter M. and Gertrude E. Simmons. Frank married Else Simmons in Germany on June 14, 1956. After serving in the US Army for over 20 years with one tour in Vietnam, he retired as a Sergeant First Class, settling with Else in Virginia. After 20 years in management, he retired from Taco Bell. He was outgoing, energetic, helping everyone when needed. He was a life-long Steelers Fan, bowler, enjoyed card games, westerns, classical music, and insisted that others smile and be happy! Frank is survived by his daughters Marina Ramos and Angela Thomas. He is also survived by his grandchildren Arianne and Sean Wood; his great-grandson Ashton Wood; his brother Walter Simmons, Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews, and his best friends Bob and Hilde Booth, and Michael, who was like a son to him. He was preceded in death by his wife Else E. Simmons, his sister Betty Clark, and his brother Edward Simmons. A service will be held in Frank’s honor on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at Continental Band Park, Fort Monroe, Virginia followed by a Pittsburgh Steelers celebration at Cornerstone Fellowship Church of God, 65 Hall Road, Hampton.
