FORREST PRESLEY HOOPER

CHESAPEAKE-  On October 3, 2023 God called  Forrest Presley Hooper home.  Forrest was born in Florida to Benjamin and Katie Hooper. Always the entertainer, Forrest charmed everyone who met him in his 8 short years. He was an artist, a comedian, an actor, a gamer, and the best big brother ever. He most recently attended Southeastern Elementary School and was a member of Boy Scout Pack 413, where he has been awarded the privilege of an Honorary Eagle Scout.

Among the many left to cherish his memory are his Daddy Ben Hooper, his Mommy Katie Hooper, and darling brother, Jackson Hooper. His Ya-ya and Poppop; Cindy and Tim Lutz; his grandmother, Kimberly Canfield; Godmother, Michelle James; as well as his three aunts, Beth Wheeler, Krissy O’Toole, and Mandy Collins; uncle, Kenny Marshall; and numerous cousins, great aunts and great uncles.

If you’re moved to celebrate this little angel please join us at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 929 S. Battlefield Blvd. Chesapeake on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. I had the privilege of driving Forrest’s bus route on a substitute basis several times last school year and this school year. Forrest was always full of light and joy; every time I saw him. He had a quirk. I don’t know if it was just with me or if he did this with his regular driver, but he would board the bus and proudly announce that we were in some random US city. Then, just 2 stops later, when he disembarked, he’d announce we were somewhere else entirely! Bus route from Austin TX to Baltimore MD. Every single time without fail. Sometimes he’d blank and ask me to pick a place.
He was a sweet, kind, imaginative child. I will miss him dearly. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

As a grandfather of a Bear Cub Scout, and a Eagle, Class of 1973 , I can only give you my heartfelt hugs…Words would never fill the void…When you hear the camp fire cracking, when you see the sparks flying into the night sky..this is Forrest…When you see the stars twinkling brightly at night…it is Forrest….When the wind gently caresses your face , it is Forrest…Bless everyone…
