Evangelist Shelia T. Adams, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, transitioned from earth to glory on May 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 21, 1953, in New Orleans, LA to the late Fred Thomas Sr. and Ellen Lee.
Ms. Adams was a member with Enoch Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as an evangelist. She loved serving the Lord and fellowshipping with friends and family. Through the years, Evangelist Adams served in the culinary ministry, the ministerial staff, hospitality ministry, and briefly served as an usher.
Shelia loved life and lived her life to the fullest.
She loved the Lord, but she also loved family and a good time. Shelia represented New Orleans wherever she went. WHO DAT!
Besides her parents, Ms. Adams was preceded in death by her sister Angela Whitefield, brother Fred Jr., and daughter Tara Butler. Left to treasure the memories are her three children, Brian Butler (Latoya), Keina Butler, and Henry Butler (Callie); 11 grandchildren, Janel (Wayne), Joshua (Bridget), Jaden, MacKenzie, Caleb, Brian Jr., Breanna, Jericho, Za’Courtney, Destiny, and Marian; three great-grandchildren: Ja’Bria, Ivy, and Isaiah; siblings, Charlie Thomas, Mark Thomas, Rickie Thomas(Rose), Ivan Thomas, Lisa Thomas, Wendy Jackson (Elroy), Matilda Thomas, and Cindy Thomas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many close friends

Ms. Adams was a very lovely woman. I had her grandson Jaden in my class at Newtown. She was always there and kept him in line. We had some awesome and wonderful times. Was always a big help. She will be missed. May God comfort the family. My deepest condolences.
What fond memories she has left. I remember her well as she served, gave inspiration and laughter to the teachers and children at Newtown Elementary. Resting with Jesus.
