Ernest Joseph Toupin, Jr., 91, a resident of Williamsburg since 2000, died peacefully Tuesday morning, August 9th, 2022. Ernest was a devoted husband to Marian for 53 years, father of four sons, and career officer in the United States Navy, serving for 37 years. He deeply loved family, friends, and country. He enjoyed sharing time with people from many walks of life, frequent travel, all kinds of music, golf, and lots of hugs.
He is survived by, four sons, Michael & wife Victoria, Paul, Raymond & wife Kimberly, and Craig; a sister, Joyce DeWalt; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren also survive.

An 11th hour neighborhood acquaintance, I only knew of him at weekly lunches. He spoke of his wife, sons, sister. Devoted family man giving absolute credence to a flesh and blood “officer and a gentleman.”
