Ellen Thomas, 78, of Virginia Beach, VA died unexpectedly on November 30, 2022. Her loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.
Ellen was born on September 14, 1944 to William and Joyce Shriver in Lynchburg, VA. Ellen attended Severna Park High School in Maryland. Ellen then settled in Virginia Beach to raise her family. After receiving her associate’s degree, she worked at various medical practices in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. She ended her career at Sentara serving in many roles for 20 years. She was a volunteer EMT and proud member of the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Anyone who knew Ellen, knew that she was charming, strong-willed, caring, hilarious and fun-loving. She had an immense passion for family time, the Red Hat Society, Ghost Hunters, camping, playing cards with her ladies and helping others.

Ellen’s family and friends will miss her and her infectious laugh more than words can say. Contributions in memory of Ellen can be made to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. There will be a celebration of life held at the Blackwell’s in 2023.
