Elizabeth Dispennette

PORTSMOUTH- Betty Dispennette, 88, formerly of Virginia Beach, went to be with the Lord on March 11, 2016 at Bon Secours Nursing Facility. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Pierre Dispennette.  Betty was born in Ohio to the late Cecilla & George Hinske. She was a member of Church of the Ascension Catholic Church and a long standing volunteer and the treasurer for over 20 years of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 20, in which her husband was a member of. Betty was also a talented seamstress and continued sewing many years after formally retiring.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother, Tom Hinske and his wife Barbara of Summerville SC; her five children, Mike Dispennette and his wife Vicki of Hendersonville NC, Bob Dispennette and his wife Kathy of Apex NC,  Jan Dispennette of Hendersonville NC, John Dispennette and his wife Colleen of Charlotte NC, and Lisa Winn and husband Bob of Portsmouth VA; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and extended family member Jimmy Bowman and his wife Donna of Trafalgar IN.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Providence Place of Maryview for the excellent care extended to their mother.
A mass of resurrection be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Church of Ascension Catholic Church, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, with Father Daniel officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer Association, D.A.V. Chapter 20 or to the Dolphin Scholarship Fund. Betty was affectionately known as “Great” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her kindness, great smile and ability to talk to anyone will be “greatly” missed amongst her family and friends.
