Edward J. Graham

August 7, 1941 - November 27, 2023

08/07/1941 - 11/27/2023

Edward J. Graham, 82, of Falls Church, Virginia, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.  His passing was peaceful while accompanied by his family.  After lengthy battles with multiple illnesses and injuries he can now rest in comfort without pain. After most of their life in Falls Church, Ed and Nancy had recently moved to Virginia Beach to start the next chapter of their lives and live closer to their grandchildren.

Ed was born August 7, 1941 in Middletown, CT and was the son of the late Everett and Teresa Graham. He attended Orville H. Platt High School and honorably served his country as a United States Marine. After serving, he surrounded himself in all aspects of real estate from property management, construction, development, and brokerage. He was a savvy businessman with a reputation for thoroughness and getting things done right the first time, fearless in pursuing and achieving success in self employment for over 60 years.

In his few moments of spare time, Ed was always up for some fun. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time on his boat, fishing, playing golf (as a member of Westwood Country Club), coaching little league baseball and participating in any and all sports. All the way up to his final day, he still loved seeing pictures and the live moments of the latest catch when the family was out on the water.

He was a strong leader who instilled a no-nonsense attitude and work ethic in his children. Showing by example to always stand up for what you believe in, be dependable and organized, and the one to call when someone you can trust is needed. Always a jokester who made light of the serious, and serious of the light, but never wanting anything less than the best for his family.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Nancy; along with his loving children, Christine (Craig) Youngdale of Bradenton, FL, and Patrick (Noelle) Graham of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Deborah Graham of Rocky Hill, CT, Evelyn Graham of Meriden, CT; cherished grandchildren, Gina Bigo, Everett, Payton, and Taylor Graham; and nieces and nephews, Karen (Greg) Seide, Brian (Amy) DeRisi, Jennifer (John) Salm, and Arthur and Jacquelyn Choiniere. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sister Kathy Piscitelli and his daughter, Kimberly Bigo (whom we know are sharing fond memories together right now).

We appreciate your prayers, cards, online condolences, shared stories, and sentiments. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Westwood Cares Foundation, c/o Westwood Country Club, 800 Maple Ave E., Vienna, VA, 22180, Attn: Kathy Bucher for advancing opportunities for kids to participate in junior golf to continue Ed’s legacy and passion.
