Edita Zenaida Antonio Saloma, born on March 4, 1950, peacefully passed away on August 30, 2023, in Newport News, Virginia. At the age of 73, she left behind a legacy filled with love, compassion, and an enduring spirit.
Edita, a native of the Philippines, touched the lives of many as a dedicated midwife in Germany. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond her professional work. She found joy in spending time with her beloved husband and cherished family, sharing her passion for cooking, and creating memories that will forever be treasured.
A faithful member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Edita found solace and strength in her faith. Her unwavering devotion served as an inspiration to those around her and brought comfort during life’s challenges. She leaves behind a void in the hearts of her loved ones, especially her beloved husband, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Melchor Antonio, her mother, Generosa Conception Antonio, and her brother, Benjamin Antonio. Despite these losses, her spirit lives on through her husband, Colly Ivan Saloma, her brother, Leon Antonio, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles, and friends from the Philippines and all over the USA.
Services to honor and celebrate Edita’s life will be held on September 14, 2023, from 4 to 7 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home Denbigh Chapel. A mass will take place on September 15, 2023, at 10 am at St. Jerome Catholic Church.
