I am heartbroken to learn about the passing of my dear friend Faye. I meet Faye in 1967, teaching at the same Special Education School. She was a mentor, teacher and my friend for over 50 years. Covid-19 made personal visits impossible, but we frequently talked as she came to Sentara for therapy.
Rest In Peace my friend…I will always remember your smile and the wonderful times we shared.

I was a colleague and friend of Faye’s at Fairfield University. I enjoyed her big smile, her sense of humor and her honesty. I have been thinking about her lately and am so sorry to hear of her passing.

Dr. Day will be missed. She was a member of my extended family from Hampton (Institute) University days when she babysat my brother while my father worked there. Later, I was born and had the privilege of studying with her as a student in the Graduate Education department t Fairfield University. May the family remember the important, loving role model she was.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Day when she was at Fairfield University. She always had the students’ interests as her priority. May she rest in peace and may her family always remember the good times with Georgia!
