Donald K. Ward Jr, “Boogie”Wednesday November 11, 2015 in Chesapeake Virginia Donald K. Ward Jr.”Boogie” lost his battle with lung cancer. He is survived by wife April Ward, Children Michael and Wife Nikki, Giovanni, and Kenneth Ward, Granddaughter Ke’arah Ward, Sister/Brother and Best Friends Sharon and husband Hugh Zimbelman, sisters Donna Jones and Sandy Sundlov. Brother in law Brandon and wife Tanisha, Daniel Carteret, Step parents Alfred and Blanch Seward, Grandparents Beatrice and Gee DeLeon, Niece, Melissa House and children Ethan, Brianna and Rylend, his pets Sparky, Junior, Stormy, Harley and Snowball as well as many other family and friends that loved him. A wake will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home 929 S. Battlefield Blvd. Chesapeake, VA 23322 on Tuesday November 17, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. and additional wake with a burial to follow will be held at  McNeill Mackie Funeral Home 319 West Broad Street St. Pauls, NC 28384 Wednesday November 18, 2015 2-3 p.m.

I grew up with Boogie in Ocean View in Norfolk. I lived on 27th Bay Street and met him when we were just kids. We stayed friends for years. I just saw his obituary and I want to send my condolences to his friends and family…R.I P. Ol’ buddy.
