Denise Marie Simon was born on May 21, 1957 in Lansing Michigan. She passed away and went home to be with Lord on Wednesday December 28, 2016. Denise’s parents were the late Thomas Albain and Patricia Jeanette Simon (Bloomer).
Denise attended Lansing Eastern High School in Michigan and studied Law Enforcement at Lansing Community College. She also attended Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, VA.
Denise served in the military for over 9 years as an Army Aircraft Mechanic. She held several positions including a Jewelry Sales Associate for Walmart, Tax Preparer for Jackson Hewitt and most recently she worked at Portfolio Recovery Group in Newport News as an Account Representative.
She also volunteered at the Malachi House Dream Center as the On-site Resident Manager assisting homeless female veterans. Denise was also an Advisory Board Member for the Malachi House Veteran Program.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Alan Simon. She is survived by her brothers: Thomas Simon, Kentucky, Daniel Simon, Michigan, Christopher Simon and one sister Michelle Simon, Michigan and sister-in-law Pamela Simon, Michigan as well as neices Ashley Simon, Amanda Miller, and Rebecca Miller and nephews Travis Simon, Matt and Danny of Michigan.
Denise loved the Lord and serviced in many ministries over the years as a member of Victory Church in Poquoson, VA, including singing with the church choir.

I first met Denise at Bethel Temple in Hampton. We were members of the very powerful and anointing choir and both were in the alto section. Even as we moved on in life Denise was never at a loss for words whenever I ran into her. She loved the lord and she loved her fellow man. I was very sorry to hear of her passing because Denise was a very kind and loving person. My deepest Condolences
