Danielle Mae Edwards, 29, of Newport News, unexpectedly passed away January 30, 2023. She is preceded in death by her mother, Constance Edwards, and grandmother, Gladys Harris.
Danielle was born on February 5, 1993 to Constance and Cecil Edwards Jr., and was so beloved by her parents. She grew up in Alabama and later Virginia where she graduated from Woodside High School. Her artistic talent was incredible, which shined through her portrait drawings and even while coloring with her kids. After high school, she continued her education and became a certified medical assistant. Danielle worked at TPMG Procedure Suite where she worked diligently to advance her career in the medical field.
The lights of Danielle’s life were her three daughters, Melody, Meadow, and Stella. Her love for them will continue on.
Danielle is also survived by her father, Cecil Edwards Jr., and sister, Victoria Randall. Danielle’s loss is immeasurable, but her memory and spirit live on in those she loved.
A memorial service for Danielle will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 5 pm to 7 pm at our Denbigh chapel.

I’ve watched Danielle through shared photos and stories from her father, Cecil. I have no words … Cecil, you and your family are in my prayers! <3
I met Daniel in highschool, during lunch time. I remember her tinkering always with a camera, always smiling and having a great time. Getting to go to con with her was something I wish I could have done more, and I regret not coming home sooner. I loved her and I’ll miss her greatly.
I met Danielle in seventh grade. She was a quiet, shy girl with tremendous talent and wicked sharp intelligence. The first time I saw her, she was a drawing a picture. It was so good! I instantly wanted to be her friend. She was so much cooler, smarter, and more talented than she ever realized.
I admired the way she saw the world. She could look at complicated things; situations and people, and instantly understand them. She also had a great sense of humor. It was a privilege to know her. She was a brilliant, kind, talented, beautiful young woman. I wish she could have seen herself the way the people who loved her saw her. The world is truly a dimmer place without her.
My best friend. My soul mate. My sister. I’ll always love you. I hope you’ve found peace.
Danielle was a beautiful person inside and out she will be missed but still loved,. RIP
I’m so sorry for your loss. Praying for you and your family. RIp Danielle.
