Dee, We are going to miss your smiling face in church. You have been my grand daughter’s hero since you told her about having to drink from the colored only drinking fountains at Camp Lejuene. I understand you will be moving to Yorktown. Know your VBCC friends will miss you and Dale, but we wish you the best.

Carol, I know this means you are almost out of family members of our generation. Take care and know we would have been at the service had not Covid been a factor

Our sincere, heart-felt sympathy goes to you, Dale’s family. It was my privilege to work with Dale on board the USS Spiegel Grove, and to get to see him in recent years through the reunion association. Dale Hatcher was not only positive, dependable and reliable, but was one of the most wonderful human beings I have known. We will join him someday in Heaven!

RIP Chief. You were my first CPO when I came aboard the USS SPIEGEL GROVE. You sent me to school and you had an immeasurable influence on me and my career in the Navy. I will ever be indebted. In recent years we rekindled our friendship as members of the Reunion Association. More good times and wonderful memories. My heart goes out to you family during this time. Dale, Chief, I will miss you.

Dale and Dee came to Texas as often as they could to visit his mother and other family members . I always enjoyed hearing his funny stories he had to tell.
I always will remember his soft slow H a l l o (for hello) when I would call him by phone.
I was adopted into this family of his Texas relative. Such a blessing to know and love this family. I’ll miss seeing him and Dee in Texas !

Our condolences to the entire family for your loss. Dale was such a great dad, husband, neighbor. He would give you the coat off of his back and was sooo helpful to my mom through the years. May he rest in peaceful eternity with his son and other family members who pre-deceased him. Prayers that you relish in all of the beautiful memories made with him.
