Constance Lynette Foster, better known as Connie by her family and friends, departed this life Friday, August 4, 2023. We’re thankful for this time of peaceful rest for Connie, who was born to William S. Foster, II, and Greeba Murrill Foster, who preceded her in death. Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, and raised in New Jersey, she attended schools in Newark, New Jersey, and Wilmington, North Carolina.  She was an anointed caregiver and delighted in helping others. Family and friends can attest to her fierce loyalty and protectiveness for those she loved.

Her heart for patient care and taking care of others helped her to weather her personal medical challenges to ensure the well-being of someone else. Connie’s “Daily Blessings” that she faithfully sent in the morning and evening on Facebook were a testimony to her love of encouraging others and hopefully leaving them with a smile.

Connie fell in love with Jesus and gave Him her life. She could say, like the Apostle Paul, “I am ready to be offered, and the time of departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. I am not dead, I am only sleeping.”  We will remember her many smiles, her hearty laughs, and the joy she exuded when she helped others.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Iman Foster and Tamika L. Foster, two granddaughters, Shacylah Foster and Iyanna Foster, one great-grandson, Justin Moore, II, three sisters, Adele J. Foster-Glenn, Edwina Foster Frazier and Cheryl D. Dizly, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11am at Altmeyer Funeral Home Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Ave. Newport News, VA 23608.

Connie, you were an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. You will be missed more than we can ever express, and your spirit remains alive in our hearts.

My sister’s spirit is still very much alive in my heart. Although I will miss her everyday I’m especially thankful I will see her again in heaven. She knew the Lord and breathed her last breath on this side of eternity in peace. Loving you ever so much!
