Connie Jean Vitolo, age 96, from the “Ironbound Section” of Newark, New Jersey. She left this world to be with the Lord Jesus on July 26, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Virginia Beach, Virginia due to natural causes.
 
Connie was a devoted wife to two husbands, a loving mother to two daughters, and a homemaker. Her passion in life was helping others. She was a lifetime member and volunteer with the Ironbound Ambulance Squad and the Saint James Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, of which she served as president for a term. She also served as a Eucharistic minister for Saint James Church for 38 years collectively.
 
She is preceded in death by her two husbands: Joseph Vitolo (50 years) and Ramiro Garcia (14 years), her parents, Michele and Catherina Amico, and her two brothers, Phillip and Anthony Amico.
 
Surviving are her two sisters Florence Pagano and Marcy Xavior, two daughters, Catherina Darpino and Anne Farrell, and three grandchildren, Patricia, Michael and Andrea, along with four great grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Louis and Mariah and her dear lifelong friend Elsie Figueiredo.
 
Funeral services to be held at 11:00 am at Altmeyer Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday July 29, 2015.  Ms. Vitolo will be laid to rest at Colonial Grove Memorial Park in Virginia Beach, VA.

DEAR ANNE,
SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE PASSING OF YOUR MOM. SHE WAS A VERY NICE PERSON FULL OF ENERGY. MAY SHE REST IN AND I KNOW SHE IS WITH THE LORD AND IS LOOKING DOWN ON YOU ALWAYS.
