Cheryl Bush

Ms. Cheryl Charmaine Bush transitioned into heaven on Monday, June 6, 2022, at her home in Newport News, Va. Cheryl graduated from Gloucester High School in 1983. She received her Associates Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1987. She retired from being a baker at Fresh Market in 2018.

Cheryl was bold, strong, and a beautiful soul. She dedicated her life to being the best sister, daughter, mother, and aunt that she could be. She always wanted all of us to live our best life. She encouraged us to be happy and pursue our dreams. She wanted us to represent our family and our ancestors before us. Cheryl enjoyed listening to music, drawing, and loved spending time with her cockatiel, Bully.

She is proceeded in death by her paternal grandfather Andrew Lee Bush Sr.; her paternal grandmother Indiana Virginia Patterson Cooke; her maternal grandmother Lelia Holmes; her maternal grandfather Willie Lee Brown; her father Andrew Lee Bush Jr.; her sister Shirley Shacklefold; her sister-in-law Melissa Bush; and her nephew Russell Shackleford Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother Myrtle Bush; her son Blair Bush (Mary Bush); her brother, Andrew Lee Bush III; her partner, Ralph Stewart; her nieces Toni Williams, Tara Bush & Tatyona Bush; her nephew Darryl Shackleford, and Andrew Lee Bush IV (Janelle Bush). As well as 7 great nieces and 4 great nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
