Charlotte “Sherrie” Ann Rose Staples went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2023. Charlotte was born November 18, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida to Betty Jean Bradley and (Harry William Rose) and James “Papa” Harris who preceded her in death.Â
Sherrie lived a spirited life which included driving in stock car and motorbike races in her younger years and laughing, dancing and playing the air guitar to the end. She was with GEICO for 15 years until her retirement in 2016. Not one to remain still very long, Sherrie volunteered at St. John the Apostle school cafeteria, worked a part–time job, and was always a full time Nana. The joy of her life are her grandchildren. She attended every sporting, school and special event for her grandchildren. A picture frame in her home summed it up nicely. It said: “I never knew how much love my heart could hold until someone called me Nana.”Â
She was blessed with a daughter and a son that she loved dearly. Left to remember sweet Nana are her daughter, Angelia (Sty) Psaras of New Hampshire; son, Brian (Jennifer) Staples of Virginia Beach; and grandchildren, Riley and Jake Staples; and her old dog Chili.Â
Funeral services will be held at Altmeyer Funeral home, 1801 Baltic Ave. in Virginia Beach, Friday January 20, 2023 at 4:00 pm.
I am so sorry hearing the passing of Sherri. I remember all the good times when we worked together at Rubin, Karesh & Shivar (Eastern Virginia Orthodontics) in the past. She was very sweet and loved her sense of humor! Love goes out to her family🥰
So sorry to hear about Charlotte’s passing. She was always so sweet, so pleasant and sharing of her smile. She was a bright light at GEICO to all those that knew her. Charlotte is your angel now and will look over you always. Many thoughts and prayers for you during this time.
