Celebrating the life of Charles J. Rieck
Charles J. Rieck, passed away peacefully at his home, in Virginia Beach, VA., on December 4, 2016 with his dog Logan at his side, his most trusted companion. We remember Charlie for his great advise, support and humor. He always had a special gift and passion for caring for the little ones. He loved Children and Pediatrics was his specialty. Retired U.S. Navy Chief, Charlie earned a Purple Heart in Vietnam, and a National Defense Service Medal, and a Vietnam Armed Forces Meritorious Unit Citation, among numerous other medals and citations. He also was an avid Chef, where he would have cook offs with Sister via Social Media, he was an Artist, and most of all loved the Beach, where he spent time fishing and walking Logan.
The Hoople Family was at the top of Charlie’s List. He loved them deeply. Charles was proceed in Death by his Father and Mother, Roy and Marialyce Rieck (Oconomowoc, WI) He is survived by his Sister: Mary Slicer, husband Ronald (Stevens Point, WI) Brother: Timothy Rieck (Oconomowoc, WI) Nephew: Shaun McMahon, wife Katherine, and Baby Sydney, (Stevens Point, WI)
Niece: Angela McMahon and husband Marc Kohn (White Plains, NY) Friend and Confidant: Kelly Hoople, sons Calvin and Nichols
And many friends that are greater than the stars above. There will a Small Celebration at Charlie’s House, This evening from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to assist with funeral costs.
