Charles “Rick” Payne JR of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on August 1, 2023 at the age of 61. He was born in Portsmouth, VA and raised in Virginia Beach where he would call home for his life.
He was predeceased by his father, Charles Richard Payne SR, and his mother, Christine Payne. He is survived by his 3 sons Corey (Kalyn), Chad (Stephanie), Evan and his 6 grandchildren Kylie, Hunter, Ainsley, Elijah, Bentley, and Colton. Also survived by his brother, Howard, sister Robin and his bestfriends/brothers Brian, Marshall, Marcus, George, and numerous others with his large extended family.
Rick was and is a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman. When he wasn’t working at B&Z mechanical, you would often find him working on his boat, spending time with his kids and grandkids, or getting bowed up while fishing in the Chesapeake Bay or offshore with his family and friends.
His family will be holding a celebration of life at 1540 Sagewood Dr Virginia Beach, VA on August 26. 2023 at 2pm.
Please, if possible, dress as if you were going fishing. That’s what Rick would have wanted.
Corey, the babies and I miss you so much dad! We still can’t believe you aren’t with us anymore. We will cherish all of our memories we had together! Corey, the kids and I talk about you all the time. I will miss hearing “babygirl I hope you know I love you” “you always take care of my boy” you can forever hold me to that! We love you so much dad!
