Charis M. Lapsley-Blacka

November 15, 1964 - December 9, 2020

11/15/1964 - 12/09/2020

On Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, the beloved Charis Blacka, 56, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away after a short illness. Charis struggled with many battles throughout her life. She fought hard, loved fierce, and lived life on her terms. This last battle, however, was too much for her body to conquer, though she tried valiantly. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Chandler Blacka, of Virginia Beach, who she loved more than life itself, and many friends and family members. Forever in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to the Treasured Memories Community Funding to help offset funeral costs.

I am just overwhelmed by the news. I met Charis in Newport News before she moved to Norfolk. I know she loved Chandler with everything in her. She was a fighter and may her spirit rest in peace.

Chandler, I was a nextdoor neighbor of your mom’s when she was born. I am Lori’mom. Although we lost touch with sweet Charis not one day did i not think of her and wished i could talk to her. Her smile could melt snow. She is pain free and I know in the arms of her Maker. I remember Lori climbing fence to go over to Mrs Moore’s and poor Charis never could climb that stupid fence to come over our house. We would have to go and help her over. She was so funny. We use to laugh so much about things all in love, Pat Patterson Sherwood
