Catherine “Kat” Curles Banks

Catherine “Kat” Curles Banks, 97, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2022. Kat was born in Cotton, Georgia to the late Percy W. Curles, Sr. and Sarah Curles on April 13, 1925.

Kat was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put her family first. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. When not spending time with her family, Kat loved tending to her garden and reading the Farmers Almanac. She was a very special woman, who is loved deeply and will be missed.

Other than her parents, Kat is preceded in death by her husband Lessel R. Banks, Sr.; siblings, Ellen McLeod, Hilda Bulloch, Jennie Morrell, Percy Curles, Jr., Mary Alice Hart, Margaret Miller, Jerry Curles and Myra Curles.

Left to cherish her loving memory is her son Lessel R. Banks, Jr & wife Bobbie; grandchildren, Brittany, Sara, Junior and Jesse Banks; great-grandchild MacKenzie; sisters, Phyllis Grizzle and Glenda Hill; many more extended family members and friends.

A visitation will take place at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, July 5. A graveside service will take place the following day, Wednesday, July 6 at 11am @ Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
