Carol and I grew up in Lafayette Park along with Shirley Carter Barker and many others. I have pictures of Carol and me in our GHS band uniforms. Later, we found ourselves living in the Indian River section of Chesapeake. We had children at IRHS. She was a great friend who remains in many memories.

Carol and I met when we were young. We met again when Dick Costen and I began to do business. I was pleasantly surprised to meet his wife and to realize how long ago we’d first met. She and Dick were “Good People” in every sense of the word. They lived a good life, were hard working and honest tradespeople. Both left good memories and are missed.

Dave and Andrea, we have enjoyed hearing stories about weekend dinners with your mother. We know those will be special memories for both of you. We will be keeping your family and you both in our prayers.

I had a wonderful visit with Carol at Willow Creek. We reminisced about old times. We talked about how much my Momma enjoyed swimming in Carol’s pool. It was a great visit. We ended with prayer. Carol was a beautiful sweet soul and truly loved the Lord.
