Brent, I just received word of your passing today. I wish I could have been there for you. I was unaware that you were back in the hampton roads area and would have loved to of been in contact with you…
When I joined the Navy I don’t think I would have lasted a week without your guidance. You got me through thick and thin and were always there for me as my mentor. I feel terrible that I was not there for you when you most needed it.
I have so much to be thankful from you and it deeply saddens me that I wasn’t able to reciprocate.
To Brett’s family… I have never met a more charismatic person., his laugh rings in my head as I type this. He is a beautiful soul and I cannot wait to see him again one day. To this day I don’t know what to say when someone passes… or what I expect to hear when someone very close passes. The only advice that I would give is the advice that I used to hate to hear… keep to your faith. I am unsure if that resonates with you but I hope it does for you down the road.
Moving forward I am going to commit to be in better contact with my old Navy Coworkers.
Rick and I would like to say thank you for all the kind words. Brent was a bright light for all of us. A loving caring son that will always be in our heart. He is truly missed.
I am so sorry for your loss Rick & Julie and the entire family. He was so full of life and we always enjoyed the time he spent with our son Aaron. I’m not even going to imagine how your heartbreak is at this moment. I have never endured what you are going through, but Please remember your moments in life, which were unforgettable. Memories are all we have at the end of every day and Brent would want you to remember just that. We mourn with you and celebrate the moments we shared with Brent. Life is so short. Let us not forget. Love you guys.
