Celebration of Life

Brent Michael Doire, beloved husband, stepfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 13, 2023, in Virginia, at the age of 29. Born on May 9, 1994, in Virginia, Brent lived a life filled with adventure, love, and dedication.

Brent was a man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 10 years, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country. His work experience in the Navy shaped him into a disciplined and honorable individual, traits that carried over into every aspect of his life.

When he wasn’t serving his country, Brent found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Going to the beach, watching movies, taking the kids to the park, and cheering on the Tides Baseball Games were some of his favorite pastimes. His infectious laughter and genuine enthusiasm brightened the lives of those around him. Brent’s ability to make people smile, coupled with his hilarious storytelling skills, made him the life of every gathering.

However, above all else, Brent cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife Shelly and embraced his role as a stepfather to Cameron, Charles, Brianna, Hailey, and Junior. Family was his everything, and he always went above and beyond to create endless memories filled with love and laughter. He was an outstanding stepfather and husband, providing unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love to his loved ones.

Brent will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his wife, stepchildren, mother Julie, father Rick, sisters Apryl and Casey, and brother Chase.

A service to celebrate Brent’s life will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This will be a time for family and friends to come together, share stories, and pay tribute to a life well-lived.

In remembering Brent, let us honor his spirit by carrying forward the qualities that made him truly special. May we be inspired by his goofiness, humor, determination, and friendship. May we strive to be outstanding stepfathers, husbands, sons, brothers, and friends, just as he was.

Though Brent’s time with us was tragically shortened, his impact on our lives will be everlasting. Let us remember him with love, laughter, and the knowledge that his legacy will endure.

My love goes out to Brent and his family. Going to school with his sister and cousins, it was a pleasure being able to attend family parties. I wish nothing more then peace and love at this time. Again my heart goes out to his family, wife and step children. And having known Brent, it’s truly amazing being able to watch him become the man he is today.

Brent, I just received word of your passing today. I wish I could have been there for you. I was unaware that you were back in the hampton roads area and would have loved to of been in contact with you…

When I joined the Navy I don’t think I would have lasted a week without your guidance. You got me through thick and thin and were always there for me as my mentor. I feel terrible that I was not there for you when you most needed it.

I have so much to be thankful from you and it deeply saddens me that I wasn’t able to reciprocate.

To Brett’s family… I have never met a more charismatic person., his laugh rings in my head as I type this. He is a beautiful soul and I cannot wait to see him again one day. To this day I don’t know what to say when someone passes… or what I expect to hear when someone very close passes. The only advice that I would give is the advice that I used to hate to hear… keep to your faith. I am unsure if that resonates with you but I hope it does for you down the road.

Moving forward I am going to commit to be in better contact with my old Navy Coworkers.
