Brennah Madison Baumstark, 21, was called home, Saturday, October 22, 2022, from Virginia Beach. Brennah was born on July 19, 2001, to Chris and Susan Baumstark. She was a graduate of First Colonial High School.
Brennah was a free spirit who loved painting, gardening, dancing, singing, travelling, and befriending people. Brennah NEVER met a stranger. Her greatest joy was helping others. Her family honored her last wish of being an organ donor. This was something she, herself, became at age 18. Brennah was, and will remain, a bright light in so many lives and she will be missed more than words can express.
Brennah was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Sullivan of Hampton, and her dog, Ruby (who she saved from SPCA).
Brennah is survived by her parents, Chris and Susan, her siblings Brody, Bradford and Brie, her maternal grandfather, Wilmar Sullivan of Newport News, her paternal grandparents, James and Patricia Baumstark of Sherrill’s Ford, NC, 9 uncles, 8 aunts, 17 cousins, AND her beloved cat, Misha.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, October 28th, at Altmeyer Funeral Home (5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA, 23462). In true Brennah fashion, please wear bright colors. A celebration of life will occur on Saturday, October 29th at 11:30 AM, at Star of the Sea Catholic Church (1404 Pacific Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23451). A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, Brennah’s family is requesting donations in her honor to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), or by bringing non-perishable food items to the celebration of life that will be donated to her local food bank
My heart just sank when I heard this. I pray that God will grant you peace through this time.
My heart just shattered hearing this news. We are with you in prayer and Spirit.
We are very sorry for your loss.

Brennah is one of the most empathetic people I have ever known. She truly listened to people and if they were sad you could tell she really cared. Qualities you don’t see anymore. I have many very happy memories Brennah, she could make me laugh for almost no reason. I’m so sorry for your loss.
Oh how my heart is breaking, I am so so sorry for your loss. Sending all of my love and prayers of comfort to your beautiful family. You will always be in my thoughts.
I was so blessed to be Brennah’s youth minister during her high school years. She was such a light in my life and many others. She truly taught me how to love and will always hold a special place in my heart. I am extremely heartbroken, but know we will see her again one day. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Baumstark family.
My heart breaks for you Susan and your entire family. May the happy memories of her and times together lift your hearts in the days ahead. I’m so very sorry.
We are deeply sorry for your loss. May God be with you and your family. Love and prayers, The Schmeiser Family
I met Brennah in middle school & she was so nice to me from the moment she met me. We had a lot of classes together & worked together in class often. She was quick to light up any room she was in. She was a really good friend & knew how to make you laugh. She will be deeply missed. ❤️
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Baumstark family. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Brennah coming to scout meetings with Brody and she was always such a bright light. My heart hurts for you. Elaine Virgili Thompson
I didn’t know Brennah but heard about his through her uncle who is employed with my company. She was a beautiful young lady and sounds like she had a beautiful soul. My heart goes out to Eddie Ford and your family during this difficult time. Peace and prayers. May her memory provide the peace you need to get through this time.
