BEVERLY O’CONNELL HOOKS
VIRGINIA BEACH- Beverly O’Connell Hooks, 73, of Virginia Beach passed away on March 8, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Virginia Beach, VA.
Beverly was born in Jacksonville, FL. to the late Robert and Dorothy O’Connell. Beverly worked for the City of Virginia Beach Office of the City Clerk (Clerk of Council) for 30 years retiring as Chief Deputy City Clerk.
Beverly is survived by her husband Robert J. Hooks; four children, Anthony R. Hooks, William Mark Hooks, Dorothy Amy Hooks, and Robert J. Hooks Jr.; eight grandchildren, T.J. Hooks, Vickie Hooks, William Winter Hooks, Angela Romero, Michelle Lopez, Kelli Hooks, Katie Barker, and Matthew Hooks; along with seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on April 1, 2017 at 2:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 4832 Haygood Rd., VA. Beach with Pastor Bubba Pugh officiating.
The family would like to thank the staff of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, especially those in the Iris Pavilion for their loving care of Beverly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Beverly’s name to the Southeastern Virginia chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, 6350 Center Dr. Suite 102, Norfolk, VA. 23502.
