Beverley Ann Robertson passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023. She was 77 years old at the time of her passing.  Bev was born in Malden, Massachusetts on October 3, 1946 to the late Robert “Buck” and Sally Brierley.  As a young girl she lived in Patuxent River, MD before moving with her family to Norfolk, VA where she graduated from Granby High School in 1964.

She was quick witted and was never afraid to stand her ground yet was very loving in the way she cared for all living creatures that crossed her path. This included many stray cats and dogs through the years as well as many neighborhood children.  Her house in both Kempshire Manor and Bellamy Woods was always open and the favorite neighborhood hangout for fun and sometimes refuge.  If there was not enough food prepared for a dozen extra kids a quick call would be made to Little Caesars. Her love and generosity did not just cover meals.  A few of her children’s friends lived with her for months at a time and even an entire school year if needed. In her professional life she used her financial acumen as a loan officer at several local banks and as a mortgage processor at various brokerages and law firms.

She enjoyed fishing and time on the water and was an excellent spotter as her family waterskied.  She loved time spent with her mother, husband and children at her oceanfront Airstream in Rodanthe, NC.  She also enjoyed traveling, making jewelry and gardening.

Bev is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Dale Robertson, her children Robert Giroux and wife Debbie, Chris Giroux and wife Meredith and Terrie Giroux. She also leaves behind cherished grandchildren Logan, Zachary, Holden, Ryder, Kayden and Kylar.  Her brother Bruce Brierley, extended family and her many friends mourn her loss deeply.

We will honor the remarkable life of Beverley during a Celebration of Life, which will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 24th at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Sorry to the Giroux clan for your loss. Your doors were always open for the random kids dragging cold wetsuits and sand into the house. Quick witted and always enjoying the kids over in the “shire”. Great person to all of Chris and Rob’s surf mates. Thanks for the great memories!
