Betty Lou Johnson Trueblood, of Chesapeake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the age of 69 years. She was born January 22, 1946 to the late Wesley and late Eunice (formerly Edwards) Johnson in Chesapeake, Virginia. She graduated from Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake. After high school she worked as a beautician for several years until she went on to business ownership. As an entrepreneur, she pursued business interests as owner/operator of Betty’s Pizza in Southgate Shopping Center, and later Mr. Pig’s BBQ and Restaurant on Battlefield Blvd.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years James Trueblood and brother Donald E. Johnson. Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her daughter Martha Trueblood, and niece Jennifer Bagwell-Matin. Further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service for Betty will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Chesapeake Chapel (929 Battlefield Blvd S) at 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for a fund to be established at a later date.
Special thanks to the staff of Consulate Health Care of Norfolk for all the care and concern shown to my mom.

Martha Ann, I am so sadden to hear of your mom’s passing. I have alot of great memories of her, your dad, Donnie and your Grandma Johnson when I was still in High School and hung out at Betty’s Pizza! She gave me a birthday party one year at Betty’s Pizza. Very funny and very loving person. You were everything to her! She was so happy when she found out she was going to have you!! I know you are hurting. I lost my mom in August and every day and every night she is the first and last thing I think about. I will keep you in my prayers. Please give me a call. I know your mom had my number.
