On the morning of Saturday, February 13, 2016, our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Betty B. Cressman,85, slipped into eternal rest. She was born in Pennsylvania and spent her adult life in the Tidewater area. Betty served as an active and faithful member of the Sunday School of First Baptist Church of Norfolk.
Betty was a phenomenal wife and mother and made sure that the Cressman household truly felt like a home by providing comfort, a listening ear and love. She also put love into the food that she prepared for her family as well as her guests, particularly her spaghetti, chili, potato salad and meatloaf. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing Yahtzee.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her devoted husband, George Cressman; adoring children, Georgia and her husband Daniel, Gary Cressman, Leonard Cressman and his wife Marchell, Patty Agolini and her husband Jim, Sandie Blankenship and her husband Bill; loyal sister, Pauline Leindecker; loving grandchildren, Michael Cressman, Jennifer Griffin, Jason Griffin, Leonard Cressman, Quentin Cressman, Cody Agolini, five admiring great grandchildren, two beautiful great-great grandchildren and a legion of loving family and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd. Virginia Beach, VA with a visitation an hour prior to service time. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following funeral services. Please click here to make donations here to First Baptist Church of Norfolk in lieu of flowers.
