Beryl Denise Crowder, 89, of Williamsburg, was called home by her Lord, Jesus Christ on June 14, 2022.
Beryl was born in England on November 21, 1932 to the late George and Ivy Rust.
She spent her career as a typesetter working for the Virginia Gazette. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church here in Williamsburg. Beryl loved to read the Bible and Agatha Christie mysteries. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and trivia. She was a big baseball fan and loved watching the games on T.V. Beryl also loved her native country, England, animals, and especially her family and friends.
Beryl is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Alan Rust, Dennis Rust, and Geoffrey Rust; and husband of 54 years, Charles Crowder. She is survived by her son, David (Beth) Crowder; daughter, Deonne (Stephen) Rubino; grandchildren, Christopher (Kylie) Crowder, Matthew (Lauren) Crowder, Kathryn Crowder, Stephanie (Anthony) Atkins, and Nicholas Rubino.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 11Am to 1PM at Faith Baptist Church with service to follow. Burial will take place at Hampton Memorial Gardens after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Beryl’s name to the Heritage Humane Society of Williamsburg or the ASPCA.
Even though there is joy in the home going, there is sorrow in your loss. We wish you comfort as we remember your kind loving mother/grandmother. We share in your sadness and our family is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.
