Barry “Woody” Woodard, 81, went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2022. Woody was born to the late Ural and Grace Woodard on August 12, 1941 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Woody was a hardworking man who loved Jesus and his family. A graduate from Murray High School, he owned and operated Woody’s towing for over 30 years in Norfolk, VA. When not working, Woody loved everything about racing. He loved to watch NASCAR and hitting the dragstrip to race his own vehicles. After retiring, Woody spent precious time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandie Woodard; sons, James M. Woodard & wife Laurie and Kevin A. Woodard & wife Shelly; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; many more extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 1pm on Saturday, October 1, at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church.

Dear Sandie,
I was shocked to hear of Barry’s passing. I did not know he was so ill.
So sorry for you and your family. You will always be welcome in my home.
Barry was a big part of our lives while growing up and after. He will be missed.
I plan to attend the celebration of life on Saturday at 1:00PM. If the time changes
please let me know.

So sorry to hear of Woody’s passing. Our kids grew up together in Elmhurst, and Sandie was coach of the Mighty Broncos at Azalea Little League when we first met.Woody was always a true southern gentleman, and we always enjoyed running into him at the Super-K pharmacy before it closed. Deepest sympathy to the family for your loss,and here’s hoping that Woody is collecting many checkered flags up yonder..
