Barbara Dianne Rosenblum passed away on July 24, 2023, in Norfolk, Virginia.

Deeply involved in her community, Barbara found fulfillment in devoting her time and efforts to causes close to her heart. Her volunteerism, optimism, and boundless energy touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on those she encountered. Barbara was a cherished member of Congregation Beth El and a long-standing supporter of the arts and cultural organizations.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Dr. Fred Harris Rosenblum. Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them, especially their family.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of her children: Dr. Richard Rosenblum and Gabrielle, Suzi Guardia and Luis, and the Honorable Michael Rosenblum and Nicole. Barbara’s sister, Susan George, and her sister-in-law, Eilene Rosenblum, also mourn her loss. She will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, as well as numerous other extended family and friends.

The graveside service will take place at noon on Wednesday, July 26, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. Barbara’s wish was for everyone to dress for the weather and not to wear black.

Thank you for sharing Barbara’s celebration of her life on-line. It brought me comfort and closure. My deepest condolences. My husband and I have lived in the same complex as Barbara for over 7 years. The last year we moved across the hall from Barbara. She was a very private person, so we didn’t interfer with her time. We did see her at the elevator and in the lobby and, of course, with sweet SnowBall!! I hope her precious dog has found another loving home. Barbara was so lovely and had such a witty sense of humor. We will miss her dearly. Keeping her family close to our hearts.

I met Barbara through our movie group and she was the only one who watched a movie twice to get greater insight. She was delightful, funny, and joyful. We all need to have the experience of a Barbara in our life:)
