MOYOCK, NC – Audrey Blanche Cahoon Klotz, 84, of Moyock, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2016. Born in Old Trap, NC, she was the daughter of the late Herbert & Olivia Cahoon and was also predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Cahoon McPherson.
Survivors include her husband of almost 64 years, John E. Klotz & children, James E. Klotz and wife Becky, and Elayne Klotz Martin & fiancé Hugo Lee. She is also survived by two brothers, Willie (Bill) Cahoon & Rayburn Cahoon and wife Clara as well as numerous loving cousins, nieces and nephews and, of course, several lifelong friends.
In younger years, Audrey worked at the telephone company in Norfolk. She & John moved to Moyock in 1960, where she enjoyed homemaking, traveling, crocheting, reading and spending time with family & friends. When her children were in high school she worked as a photographic retouch artist and a real estate agent in Moyock. In recent years, going to “play the slots” was a source of enjoyment. She especially loved the planning, packing and making the road trip with her buddies. She will be remembered by those closest to her as a great story teller and natural comedian.
The family is grateful for condolences but declines flowers and donations. It was Audrey’s wish that no service be performed. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.
It is hard to understand why people are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing you were a special part of a well-lived life. I along with many others will miss Audrey so much.
I’m happy to know she isn’t in any pain anymore. May Heavenly Father bless each & everyone in her family.
