Norfolk – Anne Mae Wingfield, 84 was born in South Norfolk to the late Noble D. and Eliza Mae Sanderlin Simpson.  She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk and had recently been residing in Courtland, VA.  Mrs. Wingfield had worked many years for the Norfolk public schools.  She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Wingfield and children, Pearl “Polly” Russell and Tony Scott.
Mrs. Wingfield is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Gadsby-Tippit; of Boykins, VA; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24 at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyerfh.com.
