Anne Elizabeth Gravelle

VIRGINIA BEACH – Anne Elizabeth Gravelle, 40, died at the Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia on November 23, 2022, after a short illness.  

Anne was born in East Meadow, New York on April 24, 1982, the daughter of Kenneth James Masin and Wendy Veronica Taylor.

She grew up in Seaford, New York and graduated from Seaford High School in 2000.

After graduation she attended Nassau Community College and received an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education.  

Anne married Jeremy Gravelle in Massapequa, New York on June 24, 2006.  They moved from Long Island to Virginia Beach in 2015.

Anne was a kind and caring person, with the biggest heart.  She loved all 15 of her nieces and nephews like they were her own.  Anne enjoyed music such as Taylor Swift and the Backstreet Boys, movies such as the Wizard of Oz, Twilight, and Harry Potter.  She was a Disney lover and enjoyed a good book.  Anne cherished every moment she spent with Chloe, playing with dolls, arts and crafts, and just snuggling.  She is loved by so many friends and family and will truly be missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 16 years, Jeremy, her daughter Chloe Grace; mother-in-law, Tammy Glaze of Fort Mill, SC; father-in-law, Alan Sorrell of Au Sable Forks, NY; Grandmother-in-Law, Mildred Gravelle of Au Sable Forks; sister-in-law’s, Sarah Sims and Emily Sims of Plattsburgh, NY; brother-in-law, Eric Sims of Virginia Beach; her godparents, Stu & Gloria Jones; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth in 2005 and her mother, Wendy in 2009.  

Anne’s wishes were that there be no calling hours or funeral services.  There will be a celebration of her life in the spring of 2023.  

The family of Anne would like to thank the staff of Sentara Heart Hospital and Lake Taylor Transitional Hospital for the excellent care they provided Anne during these past few months.
