Anne Catherine Pulley-Clay

August 19, 1975 - July 21, 2022

08/19/1975 - 07/21/2022

Anne Catherine Pulley Clay, 46, of Norfolk  VA left this world suddenly on July 21, 2022.  Cherishing the time they had with her and keeping her in their hearts always are her husband, Gorman Clay; her three daughters Alishia Patterson, 13-year-old twins Adrianna Clay and Alexis Clay; her three grandsons, Noah Coleman, Nehemiah  Coleman and Zachariah Patterson, as well as her brother, Michael Pulley, parents, Bert and Linda Pulley, and many aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind her lifelong friends, Tracie Strickland, Melissa Abelar and Jillian Wilson.

Anne was born in Rome. GA on August 19, 1975 and lived in Newsoms and Harrisonburg before her family moved to Virginia Beach when she was in fourth grade. As a young child she was always curious and in a hurry to learn. After her first day of kindergarten, she came home and told her mom that she went to kindergarten and didn’t learn to read that day so she wasn’t going back.  During her school years Anne excelled in basketball and never forgot the thrill of playing with Ann Donovan at ODU basketball camp. She was also an accomplished violinist. Anne worked as a mortgage closer and event planner.
She will be remembered for her kind heart and willingness to be there for anyone who needed help and as a determined advocate for all God’s creatures. Her quick wit and boundless sense of humor set her apart and provided many laughs and enduring memories for all who knew her.
A memorial service for Anne will be held at a later date.
