Amy Melissa Gilbert, 31, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2022. Amy was born to Douglas and Melissa Gilbert on January 16, 1991, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Amy was a graduate of Princess Anne High School and took several classes from Tidewater Community College. She loved music, dancing, singing and was a fun-loving free spirit. Amy had many talents but the most notable was her artistic ability. She enjoyed horseback riding and adored all animals. She also enjoyed visiting theme parks and riding the coasters. Amy was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her loving memory is her daughter, Reyna May Flitton; parents, Doug and Melissa Gilbert; brother and sister-in-law, Justin and Katrina Gilbert; grandmother, Nell Coyle; Uncle, Aunt and Cousin, Everett, Diane and Brooke Williams and many more extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will take place at Altmeyer Funeral Home Southside Chapel (5033 Rouse Drive, VA Beach, VA 23462) on (updated date) Saturday, February 5 starting at 2:00pm.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to her daughter Reyna’s, college savings account at Norfolk Fire Federal Credit Union in Norfolk. Donations can be made online through the family’s TMC campaign by going to www.tmcfunding.com or by clicking the link HERE.

Amy I miss you so much. we only knew each other for a few months but I really bonded with you and you were my friend when i needed one and you were the only person at north star that I felt safe enough to open up to and I just wish i would have hugged you one last time I just thought i would see you again. thank you for being in a chapter of my life and giving me some good times that I can always think of and remember when I felt joy, laughter, and belonging even if they are followed by tears. I love you and i feel blessed that I got to meet you.
