Allen D. Moore

December 3, 1955 - July 6, 2020

12/03/1955 - 07/06/2020

CHESAPEAKE – Allen D. Moore, 64, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday July 6.  Allen was born in Texas to Ginger Mae Benton and the late Bobbie Dean Moore.  He was a veteran having served in the US Navy.  Allen served as a children’s Sunday School Teacher for over 20 years, was a member of Sonlight Church, and enjoyed reading, and going to the movies with his bride. He was a big kid inside and loved kids of all ages.  He was a big man with a bigger heart and a gentle way about him. Allen was a great example of a Godly man and Godly husband/father/grandfather. He had a passion for foreign missions and travelled many times as the hands and feet of Jesus.
He was predeceased by daughters, Susan Nowitsky and Anita McCombs, and sister Sherry Harrell.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife and pride of 27 years, Pat Moore; his mother, Ginger; Brothers Terry Moore and Blaine O’Neal; sons, Butch Coleman (Lynn) and Chad Coleman (Amie); 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church. Please join the family for a meal and fellowship in the social hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sonlight Church Building Fund (708M South Battlefield Blvd., Suite 103, Chesapeake, VA 23322).
