Paul Kenneth Clark, age 87, died on July 18, 2023. He was born May 7th in Columbus County to Walter Bruce and Lillie Williamson Clark. His siblings were Betty Mae Riggs and Bruce A. Clark. All proceeded him in death.
When Kenny was 15 the family relocated from Lake Waccamaw, NC to Newport News VA where he lived the rest of his life. Kenny graduated from Warwick High School in 1955. In 1957 he met Patricia Lee Clark whom he would later marry. Kenny graduated from The Newport News Apprentice School in 1959. In1960 he was drafted into military service. He and Patty married July 23, 1960 before he deployed to Germany for 2 years. They were proud of their almost 63 year marriage and commitment to God and one another. While stationed in Germany he made several life-long close friends. He came home in 1962 and continued his employment with Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company.
PK retired with just over 40 years of service as a QA Inspector in the Main Machine Shop. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and often attended Wellspring UMC in Williamsburg.
Kenny enjoyed fixing things and had quite the treasure trove of “Junk” that he liked to tinker with. He could fix a lawn mower like a pro! He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Banberry Rod and Gun Club for many years. He enjoyed the monthly meetings of his classmates. He loved eating with them and talking about the good old days as well as bragging about his family.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Patricia Lee (Clark) Clark and his daughters, Robyn Patricia Clark (Ericka) and Andrea Lyn Chestney (Jeff). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Stephen James Carey, Thomas Paul Carey and Victoria Grace Chestney. Uncle Skin is survived by several nephews and nieces as well as great and great greats! He loved being with his family. We have so many memories and stories of him that we will always treasure.
We are especially grateful to Danny and Noemi for their love and care! We would to thank the hospital staff at Riverside Doctor’s Hospital, Riverside Regional Hospital and Mary Immaculate for their care. We greatly appreciate the expediency and skills of Station 5 EMS of Lee Hall. All of you helped give our family more time with Daddy. He fought many illnesses over the last 7 months and 9 hospitalizations. He finally is no longer in pain but we will forever miss him. His laughter will be missed.
We would like memorial contributions to go to the American Heart Association. His visitation will be Wednesday, July 26 at 12:30 at Altmeyer Funeral Home Denbigh Chapel. Funeral services and burial will follow with Rev. Edward Hopkins presiding. Burial will be at Peninsula Memorial Park in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Daddy, I am trying to be strong but you know I would give anything to hear you say “You know old Dad loves you” one more time… I hope I gave you some peace of mind and comfort over the past 7 months. We went through a lot together during your 9 hospitalizations. We made some memories that I will treasure and I love some of the pictures I took of you although you were sick. I love you so so much! We will take care of Momma like I promised and don’t worry about us!
